First in a series of artwork featuring heritage cities in the Indian sub-continent. I used paper collage and ink outlines to create the elements and assembled them on Photoshop CS. The scene shows monuments, architecture, objects and curiosities that are unique to each city. This piece is set in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The focal point is the Bhadra Fort in the background (L), surrounded by houses from a traditional Pol, family communes found in the older areas of the metropolis. Right in the center is a blue Chabutra, one of many bird houses that dot this vibrant city. Finally, the sky pays tribute to the winter Kite Festival held every year in January.
More cities to follow, stay tuned!
